2026-2027 AUTISM TEACHER - SMITH, J.D. MS

About the role

This position is responsible for providing specialized education to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and school staff to support student learning.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• A valid teaching license in Special Education.
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.

Skills

• Proficiency in using assistive technology.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and universal design for learning.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
