About the role

The position is for an autism teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year. The months involved are September and the hours are 7.18 per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with autism in self-contained classrooms.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in special education or a related field.
• A valid teaching license in special education.
• Experience working with students with autism or knowledge of autism spectrum disorders.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of evidence-based practices for teaching students with autism.
• Experience using data to inform instruction and make decisions about student progress.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
