About the role

Ahl Horan Association (AHA) is a non-governmental, non-profit making, national organization. It was established in May 2012 in response to the humanitarian needs resulting from the current situation and the humanitarian crisis in Syria to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian. AHA operates in different sectors, implementing various projects and programs.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Monitoring all the M&E activities of the FSL project in the field and act as a focal point for qualitative data analysis and reporting;
  • Regular coordination with the M&E Manager based in Gaziantep to provide timely data collection in line with donor requirements;
  • Supervising the day-to-day implementation, and report all activities related to the FSL project;
  • Liaise with the FSL team regarding data collection procedures to ensure accurate and timely response;
  • The finalisation of need assessments or any other assessment or survey in the targeted areas to ensure that project meets the priority needs of the area and communities present;
  • Weekly catch-up meetings with the M&E Manager and Senior Project Officer to discuss the most recent updates, problems, and concerns;
  • Supervising the volunteers responsible for collecting the data and train them regularly on the verification, distribution monitoring, and post-distribution monitoring tools;
  • Promote related tools suitable for the project activities in cooperation with the M&E Manager;
  • Regular communication with AHA’s supporting departments and other projects as requested;
  • Other tasks assigned by the M&E Manager.

Qualifications / Technical Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics… etc.)
  • Extremely excellent Analytical skills and techniques;
  • Demonstrated ability to use quantitative and qualitative methods including questionnaire design, survey techniques, and participatory approaches;
  • Demonstrated ability to produce a quality narrative report in English;
  • Strong skills in Excel and other MS office software;
  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessment/beneficiary selection processes and approaches;
  • Very good level of English.

Interpersonal, Communication and Coordination Skills

  • Mechanics and techniques of problem-solving;
  • Excellent organization, time management, coordination skills, the capacity to prioritize, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to cope with a challenging and constantly-evolving humanitarian work environment, often under pressure;
  • A strong commitment to humanitarian relief and disaster operations;
