1st Shift Shipping/Receiving Clerk

About the role

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking a shipping and receiving clerk for their Hagerstown, MD location for 1st Shift. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Places identifying information on material upon arrival at the plant site. Routes items to inventory.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Maintains flow of traffic through yard and assists in staging shipments for outbound loads.
• Affords assistance in stacking lumber or moving product by hand as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• 6 months related experience
• Lumber experience a plus!
