Shipping & Receiving Clerk ~ 1st Shift

Duties And Responsibilities

• Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on invoice or packing slip and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage.
• Inspect shipments for damage and defects.
• Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including fork lift, pallet jack, and handcart.
• Read and fill requisitions for stock items.
• Verify accuracy of orders received.
• Load and unload delivery truck by hand or by use of fork lift.
• Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedures.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, carrying, etc.
• Detect needed repairs on vehicles and equipment by following established inspection procedures.
• Work with all department in order to guarantee quality and accuracy of items shipped and items received.
• Backup scheduler of shipments and data entry.
• Participate in all physical inventories

Required Qualifications

• A high school graduate or equivalent GED certification.
• Six months to one year experience in production environment.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• Must be self-motivated and have good organizational skills.
• Ability to obtain fork lift certification.

• Frequent talking and hearing.
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds.
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
• Frequent exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat.
• Frequent noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

PAY AND SCHEDULE

• Pay range is $20 - $25 per hour.
