1st Shift Order Picker / Warehouse Associate

About the role

As a Warehouse Associate, you will safely and efficiently perform a variety of duties within PBV’s warehouse operations to support both internal and external customers and meet business goals. Duties include pulling, loading, unloading, sorting, staging, stacking, building pallets, wrapping, transporting, counting, performing quality control checks, dumping, reworking, replenishing, and handling PBV products, raw materials, packaging, and other warehouse goods. The exact nature of duties may vary by facility.

Responsibilities

• Verifies accuracy and quality of products received from vendors/suppliers and shipped to customers.
• Performs check-in/check-out duties and maintains proper records (Bill of Ladings, receivers, pick tickets) according to warehouse standard operating procedures.
• Counts goods returned to the plant by sales and delivery personnel that are damaged, full, and/or empty.
• Interacts with automation systems, voice pick systems, paper pick tickets, and other warehouse management systems to verify and record products, build and verify pallets, and ensure accurate load outs and inventory counts.
• Identifies machine faults, troubleshoots, corrects system errors/issues, and performs basic cleaning and maintenance on automation systems.
• Safely and efficiently operates warehouse material handling equipment, including single or double forklifts, High-Speed Picking Area (HSPA) Claw, walkie-rider pallet jack, wrappers, and other designated equipment.
• Operates other warehouse machinery, such as floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, dock plates, and bay doors.
• Performs all required safety and pre-trip checks on assigned machinery.
• Performs janitorial tasks to maintain a clean and organized workspace, including emptying trash, cleaning spills, picking up debris, and restacking overturned pallets/product.
• Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Security, and other food safety rules and guidelines.
• Ensures accuracy and quality of work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to pass the forklift skills assessment and safely operate PBV Material Handling Equipment.
• At least six (6) months of forklift experience preferred.
• Computer/Human Machine Interface skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Good math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to sort and group products efficiently.
• Must be able to read and understand product labels and load ticket instructions.
• Must be able to count large quantities of products and materials.
• Must be able to read/hear and understand procedures for performing work.
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment with exposure to hot/humid or cold weather conditions.
