1st Shift Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
About the role
Quad's Chemical Research & Technology (CR/T) operation manufactures the specialized inks and coatings used throughout our nationwide printing network. As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you'll help keep this specialized ink dispersion operation running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting, solving equipment problems, and working on a wide variety of industrial systems.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production and process equipment.
- Work on pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, augers, mixers, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Rebuild rotary vane pumps and other mechanical components.
- Perform pipe fitting, welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly.
- Install new equipment and support equipment upgrades.
- Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
- Partner with operations to troubleshoot equipment issues and keep production running.
- Follow lockout/tagout and all company safety procedures.
Requirements
- Previous industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Experience rebuilding rotary vane pumps.
- Experience with pipe fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems and safe work practices.
- Ability to work at heights and safely operate high-lift equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English to safely perform job duties, follow work instructions, and communicate effectively with team members.
Qualifications
- Experience maintaining equipment in ink, paint, coatings, chemical processing, food processing, plastics, or other process manufacturing environments is a plus.
Pay
$30.00–$36.00/hour, based on relevant experience and skills.
Schedule
Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8-hour shifts. Overtime opportunities available as business needs require.
