1st class Mechanic
Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The role involves maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles feature propulsion systems such as diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies (compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in some locations).
Responsibilities
- Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
- Performs physical tasks including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting frequently throughout the workday
- Sits infrequently as required
- Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level
- Operates standard and manual transmission vehicles
- Operates power and pneumatic tools
- Troubleshoots and maintains hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls
Requirements
- Active driver’s license issued by the state
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on location
- Possesses required hand tools to perform job assignments
- Current documented automotive mechanical experience
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computer
- Full complement of personal hand tools
- Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
- Dependable with ability to report to work regularly and complete scheduled shifts
- Available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime as needed

- Exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, and outside inclement weather
- Works cooperatively in a diverse environment
- Communicates effectively to maintain job safety conditions
- Wears personal protective equipment as required
Pay
The starting pay for this position is $39.07 per hour. Compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
