1st class Mechanic

Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The role involves maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles use propulsion systems such as diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies (compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in some locations).

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
• Performs physical tasks including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting frequently throughout the workday
• Sits infrequently as required
• Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level
• Operates standard and manual transmission vehicles
• Operates power and pneumatic tools
• Works in variable temperatures and humidity, with exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, outside inclement weather, etc.
• Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment
• Communicates effectively to maintain proper job safety conditions

Requirements

• Active driver’s license issued by the state
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including schedules such as Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday, depending on location
• Possesses required hand tools to perform the job
• Current documented automotive mechanical experience
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers
• Full complement of personal hand tools
• Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
• Dependable with ability to report to work regularly and complete scheduled shifts consistently
• Available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime as needed
• Wears personal protective equipment as required
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer

Pay

The starting pay for this position is $39.07 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.

Schedule
