Position Details
The Mechanic 1st Class is an integral member of the Maintenance team based at our US - Willow Island, WV (UNION USW - 0499) site. Hourly rate range for this position is $40.55 - $45.06.
Position Responsibilities
- Performs and assists with the maintenance of vacuum pumps, mills, pumps, power transmission, gearboxes, air compressors, chillers; scaffolding; screwed pipe repairs; tubing repairs/replacements; sanitary plumbing repairs; packing replacement; routine lubrication; bolt torque procedure; gasket replacement; and general mechanical troubleshooting.
- Performs and assists with internal fermenter inspections and repairs.
- Performs and assists with code welding, general welding, and process piping.
- Operates and assists with crane operations.
- Completes scheduled preventive maintenance throughout the plant.
- Operates fork truck safely and efficiently.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. A technical degree, Journeyman Apprenticeship is strongly preferred. Two to five (2-5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a Maintenance Mechanic is required.

Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds
