1st Class Handyperson

About the role

We are seeking a 1st Class Handyperson to join our team at BAE Systems Inc.

Responsibilities

• Complete grinding, scaling and other surface preparation activities
• Complete cutting, and tacking work, be familiar with hot work requirements
• Able to measure and cut pipe
• Help mechanics and tradespeople with installations, maintenance, and repairs
• Follow safety rules, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Work Authorization Forms (WAF)
• Work with hand tools, power tools, and small shop equipment
• Maintain clean and safe job sites while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: 1 to 2 years' relevant trade experience
• Skills: Read blueprints, use a tape measure to 1/16", and understand basic math and measurements
• Physical: Stand or walk for long periods, work in confined spaces, and wear required safety gear
• Clearance: Ability to obtain a government access badge

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-years experience in maritime/marine industrial operations

Pay

The salary range for this position is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour (or $39,520 to $47,840 annually). Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as shift differentials or the terms outlined in an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will ultimately determine your wages. This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
