About the role

Skeena Middle School, located in Terrace, BC, is seeking a Continuing, Full-time (1.00 FTE) - Grade 7 CORE & Other Teacher starting September 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach students at all grade levels according to the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum.
• Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, and emotional learning difficulties.
• Work as part of a team to support the development and implementation of individualized learning plans.
• Show strong classroom management skills and ability to relate well with students, parents, and staff members.
• Follow the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning.

Requirements

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for).
• Experience teaching students at all grade levels.
• Working knowledge of the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Able to relate well with students, parents, and staff members.
• Committed to following the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate) or eligible to obtain.
• Teacher Qualification Card.

Benefits

• Salary as per collective agreement.
• $1,000 - $5,000 relocation allowances for teachers from other areas (conditions may apply).
• $3,500 Recruitment and Retention allowance for all teachers (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on FTE).
• Isolation Allowance for our remote communities: Hazelton - $1,287, Kitwanga - $1,528, Stewart - $ 4,824 (paid over 10 months of the school year).
• Medical, dental, extended health and group life insurance benefits as per the collective agreement.

Pay

Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $63,513 - $117,454 (based on 1.00 FTE) is in accordance with the Collective Agreement in place between the Coast Mountain Teachers' Federation and the Board of School Trustees.

Full-time position starting September 1, 2026.
