About the role

We are looking for an experienced B2B contractor to perform LiDAR and 360° mapping in California. The role involves traveling to different locations within the state, so the candidate should be comfortable with travel and temporary relocation. Fuel and accommodation expenses related to travel will be covered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field‑based geospatial data collection using a LiDAR system.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate the LiDAR system to ensure high‑quality and accurate data.
  • Work with one of the following equipment setups (as agreed individually):
    • Drone‑based LiDAR – own LiDAR system, valid US drone pilot license, proven piloting and surveying experience.
    • Vehicle‑based LiDAR – LiDAR mounted on owned or rented vehicle, proven experience with vehicle‑based systems.
    • Pedestrian‑based LiDAR – LiDAR sensor with necessary expertise to configure, calibrate, and operate; preferably includes GNSS and IMU.
  • Optionally use a 360° camera (can be provided by us).

Requirements

  • Own LiDAR system that meets the project requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate within the state of California.
  • Availability to work with field equipment throughout the project.
  • Having a LiDAR system is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with drone‑based LiDAR data collection and a valid US drone pilot license (if using drone).
  • Proven experience working with vehicle‑based LiDAR systems.
  • Experience with pedestrian‑based LiDAR systems and ability to configure, calibrate, and operate the LiDAR sensor.
  • Preference for setups that include GNSS and IMU for accurate positioning.
  • Experience conducting surveying or geospatial work.

Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with LiDAR systems.
  • Strong knowledge of LiDAR system setup and calibration.
  • Practical expertise in operating LiDAR equipment in the field.
  • Experience with surveying or geospatial data collection.
