About the role

We are seeking an experienced B2B contractor to perform LiDAR and 360° mapping across California. The position requires travel to various sites within the state, with fuel and accommodation expenses covered by the client.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field‑based geospatial data collection using a LiDAR system.
• Travel to different locations throughout California and be prepared for temporary relocation.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate the LiDAR system to ensure high‑quality, accurate data.
• Work with one of the following equipment configurations (drone‑based, vehicle‑based, or pedestrian‑based LiDAR) as appropriate to the project.
• Optionally utilize a 360° camera (can be provided by the client).

Requirements

• Hands‑on experience with LiDAR systems.
• Own equipment that meets the project requirements (drone‑based, vehicle‑based, or pedestrian‑based LiDAR).
• Strong knowledge of LiDAR system setup, calibration, and operation.
• Experience with surveying or geospatial data collection.
• Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate within California.
• Availability to work with field equipment for the duration of the project.
• Possession of a LiDAR system is mandatory.
• If using drone‑based LiDAR: valid US drone pilot license and proven piloting skills.
• Preference for LiDAR setups that include GNSS and IMU for accurate positioning.
