About the role

We are seeking an experienced B2B contractor to perform LiDAR and 360° mapping across California. The role requires travel to various locations within the state, with temporary relocation as needed. Fuel and accommodation expenses related to travel will be covered by the hiring party.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field‑based geospatial data collection using a LiDAR system.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate the LiDAR equipment to ensure high‑quality, accurate data.
• Perform LiDAR and 360° mapping tasks as required by the project.
• Travel to project sites throughout California and work with field equipment for the duration of the assignment.

Requirements

• Own a LiDAR system that meets project requirements (mandatory).
• Hands‑on experience with LiDAR systems and strong knowledge of system setup and calibration.
• Experience with surveying or geospatial data collection.
• Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate within California.
• Availability to work with field equipment throughout the project.
• Depending on the chosen platform, one of the following:
• Drone‑based LiDAR: own drone‑mounted LiDAR, proven experience with drone‑based LiDAR data collection, valid US drone pilot license, proven piloting skills, and surveying/geospatial work experience.
• Vehicle‑based LiDAR: LiDAR system mounted on a vehicle (owned or rented), proven experience with vehicle‑based LiDAR systems; assistance may be provided for required licenses/documentation.
• Pedestrian‑based LiDAR: expertise to configure, calibrate, and operate a pedestrian LiDAR sensor; preference for setups that include GNSS and IMU; a 360° camera can be supplied, but is not required.
