The role

The main responsibility will be field-based geospatial data collection using a LiDAR system. It is important not only to have the required equipment, but also to have practical expertise in setting up, calibrating, and operating the system, as the quality and accuracy of the collected data depend heavily on proper configuration.

Responsibilities

• Field-based geospatial data collection using a LiDAR system.
• Setting up, calibrating, and operating the LiDAR system.
• Ensuring high-quality and accurate data collection through proper configuration and integration with GNSS and IMU.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with LiDAR systems.
• Own equipment that meets the project requirements.
• Strong knowledge of LiDAR system setup and calibration.
• Experience with surveying or geospatial data collection.
• Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate within the state of California.
• Availability to work with field equipment throughout the project.

Qualifications

• Mandatory requirement: Own LiDAR system.
• Experience with drone-based LiDAR data collection (drone pilot license and all required documentation).
• Experience with vehicle-based LiDAR systems.
• Experience with pedestrian-based LiDAR systems (including LiDAR sensor and GNSS/IMU).

Skills

• Knowledge of LiDAR system setup and calibration.
• Experience with surveying or geospatial data collection.
• Ability to work with field equipment.
