1165 | California LiDAR Field Data Collection Contractor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced B2B contractor to perform LiDAR and 360° mapping in California. The role involves traveling to different locations within the state of California, so the candidate should be comfortable with travel and temporary relocation within the state. Fuel and accommodation expenses will be covered.

Responsibilities

• Perform field‑based geospatial data collection using a LiDAR system.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate the LiDAR system to ensure high‑quality and accurate data.
• Work with one of the three possible equipment setups: drone‑based, vehicle‑based, or pedestrian‑based LiDAR.

Requirements

• Hands‑on experience with LiDAR systems.
• Own equipment that meets the project requirements (LiDAR system is mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of LiDAR system setup and calibration.
• Experience with surveying or geospatial data collection.
• Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate within the state of California.
• Availability to work with field equipment throughout the project.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with drone‑based LiDAR data collection, including a valid drone pilot license and required documentation to operate legally in the US.
• Proven piloting skills and relevant practical experience; experience conducting surveying/geospatial work.
• Proven experience working with vehicle‑based LiDAR systems (vehicle may be owned or rented); ability to obtain necessary license/documentation if needed.
• Experience with pedestrian‑based LiDAR systems; expertise to configure, calibrate, and operate the LiDAR sensor.
• Preference for LiDAR setups that include GNSS and IMU for accurate positioning.
• Experience with 360° camera operation is an advantage (camera can be provided).
