About the Role

The Director of Sales (DOS) leads a market-area team to achieve sales, profit, freshness, and market-share growth. The role empowers Regional Sales Leaders and Operation Sales Support Leaders to execute with excellence and deliver on accountabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Embrace and lead with a growth mindset, vision, and the values of Barcel (BLU).
  • Achieve individual performance goals for established Barcel KPIs: Sales, VPO, Service, Saturation, Voids, and Execution (Strategic/Marketing/Promotion).
  • Set granular goals for Regional Sales Leaders for Barcel KPIs and ensure accountability for execution, communication, and planning of Barcel Customer and Marketing strategies.
  • Align goals for all Barcel Customer and Marketing strategies with Barcel Teams and Regional Sales Leaders.
  • Ensure Regional Sales Leaders understand and execute the Order Management process and that orders align with Customer and Marketing plan strategies.
  • Develop, support, and execute Barcel Brand Stewardship in the market, coordinating with Barcel/BBU/DSDE COE.
  • Ensure execution and accountability of OTIF (On-Time In-Full) results from Plant to DC to SC.
  • Coordinate and ensure implementation of all Barcel training in the assigned geography.
  • Lead, train, and develop Regional Sales Leaders through a disciplined coaching process (60% or 3 days per week).
  • Ensure communication and validation of POS material expectations to BBU for strategic, promotional, marketing, and “Gold Standard” Barcel execution.
  • Support and ensure execution of Business Reviews with BBU Sales Operations (KPI, Customer, Marketing results).
  • Act as a Vision Carrier for DSDE (BBU Way to DSDE, BBU Way to Coach, BBU Way to Sell, BBU Way to Operate, BBU Way to WC Merchandising, BBU Way to Safety Excellence).
  • Create an engaged, frontline-focused sales culture by prioritizing business partners’ capabilities, needs, and growth.
  • Maintain and establish key customer relationships to drive Barcel performance.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, communicate, and execute Barcel to BBU Project support (Multi-Step – “1800”).
  • Coordinate, validate, process requests, and ensure value for Barcel MSL “project” support in the market area.
  • Align all BBU Sales Operations to Barcel forecast for the assigned area.
  • Ensure the Sales Commitment process is understood and executed by all team members.
  • Establish and execute communication and feedback loops with Barcel customer teams across all channels.
  • Support and ensure execution of Barcel’s “Competing to Win” messaging in BBU Sales Centers.
  • Lead and support safety initiatives in the assigned area.
  • Empower, confirm understanding, and hold the team accountable for executing Leader Standard Work; drive continuous improvement through this process.
  • Ensure Regional Sales Leader weekly calendar/LSW is executed.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with all functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in Direct Store Delivery (DSD).
  • Strong analytical experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in or managing an Account Executive role is a plus.
  • Proven track record of effective leadership, including people development.
