Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and make corrections/adjustments to CNC lathe equipment, including live tooling.
  • Perform insert changes and adjustments to bring parts to specified sizes.
  • Use various gauging and measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, bore gauges) to perform quality inspections and ensure parts conform to blueprint specifications.
  • Learn and use the Data Log system at the machines.
  • Maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) by following PM sheets, including:
    • Adding coolant and checking concentration.
    • Removing chip buildup.
    • Greasing the chuck.
    • Checking and adding oil as needed.
    • Changing scrap barrels when full.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Adapt to new equipment or changes in existing equipment.
  • Apply math skills to job-related tasks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to eliminate waste, streamline processes, and increase productivity and quality.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform other job duties as required by the Supervisor.
  • Ensure regular attendance, as it is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (satisfactory to management).
  • Familiarity with multiple types of presses and assembly sequences.
  • Experience using gauging/measuring devices, ovens, sandblasters, die cutters, and label makers.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
