Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and make corrections/adjustments to CNC lathe equipment, including live tooling.
- Perform insert changes and adjustments to bring parts to specified sizes.
- Use various gauging and measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, bore gauges) to perform quality inspections and ensure parts conform to blueprint specifications.
- Learn and use the Data Log system at the machines.
- Maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) by following PM sheets, including:
- Adding coolant and checking concentration.
- Removing chip buildup.
- Greasing the chuck.
- Checking and adding oil as needed.
- Changing scrap barrels when full.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Adapt to new equipment or changes in existing equipment.
- Apply math skills to job-related tasks.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to eliminate waste, streamline processes, and increase productivity and quality.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform other job duties as required by the Supervisor.
- Ensure regular attendance, as it is an essential function of the job.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (satisfactory to management).
- Familiarity with multiple types of presses and assembly sequences.
- Experience using gauging/measuring devices, ovens, sandblasters, die cutters, and label makers.
- Mechanical aptitude.
