Valid NYS certification in Elementary (K-6 required).

Responsibilities

• Instruction of the 2nd grade curriculum, including creating a positive learning environment.
• Development and implementation of long and short-range instructional plans.
• Formative and summative assessment of student progress.
• Administrative duties such as attendance tracking and parent communication.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Common Core Standards.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of materials, supplies, and lessons.
• Effective classroom management skills.
• Ability to work with students of all ability levels, differentiate instruction, and use a variety of teaching techniques (e.g., co-teaching).
• Ability to reflect on teaching practices for continuous growth and excellence.
• Proficiency in using data and assessment tools to identify needs, assess student progress, and plan instruction.
• Optimism, enthusiasm, compassion, warmth, understanding, and sensitivity toward all students.
• Ability to maintain high levels of student engagement.
• Effective communication with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
• Strong interpersonal skills with students, faculty, support staff, and parents.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Math & ELA Common Core Learning Standards.
• Experience using technology as a tool for instruction.

Pay

Annual salary: $47,200 - $53,700 per WTA Contract.
