1.0 Probationary Elementary Teacher -Country Parkway Elem

Valid NYS certification in Elementary (K-6 required).

Responsibilities

• Instruction of the K-4 grade curriculum.
• Creating a positive learning environment.
• Developing long and short-range plans and implementing them effectively.
• Formative and summative assessment of student progress.
• Administrative duties such as attendance and parent communication.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Common Core Standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and curriculum development, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of materials, supplies, and lessons.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective classroom management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students of all ability levels, differentiate instruction, and use a variety of teaching techniques (including co-teaching).
• Demonstrated ability to reflect on one's teaching to allow for growth and excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to use data and assessment tools to identify needs, assess student progress and performance, and plan instruction to improve performance and achievement of all learners.
• Demonstrated optimism, enthusiasm, compassion, warmth, understanding, and sensitivity to all students.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of student engagement.
• Demonstrated effective communication with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with students, faculty, support staff, and parents.

Preferred Characteristics

• Experience with Math & ELA Common Core Learning Standards.
• Experience using technology as a tool for instruction.

Pay

Annual salary: $47,200 - $53,700 per WTA contract.
