This is a 2026-2027 school-year position with salary and benefits following the CEA contract.
Requirements
- Hold an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher License or Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement
- Hold a Bachelor Degree in Education
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of each child while providing special education services and leading the classroom daily routine
- Follow the rules and regulations governing services for children with disabilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Develop and implement an appropriate Individual Education Plan (IEP), including functional goals, objectives, benchmarks, and Kindergarten-transition information as applicable
- Deliver Early Childhood Intervention Services, developmentally appropriate activities, accommodations, modifications, and behavior-management techniques in a safe, positive, least-restrictive learning environment
- Collect, analyze, and monitor intervention data to adjust IEP goals as needed
- Provide parents/guardians with required IEP progress updates
- Facilitate annual IEP meetings and additional meetings as needed
- Meet all program documentation timelines (progress reports, child-outcome summaries, assessment reports, 3-year evaluations, re-evaluations, annual IEPs, etc.) while managing multiple priorities
- Administer formal and informal assessments and maintain working knowledge of assessment tools
- Participate in play-based assessments and Early Childhood Screenings
