Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

TheraPeds Partners is a Colorado-based, therapist-owned and operated organization. We partner with local schools to provide Early Childhood Special Education Teaching (ECSE SPED) services to PreK-12 students nationwide. About the role

This is a full-time, on-site Early Childhood Special Education Teacher position serving a school located in Newport, NH. The role involves providing teaching and case management services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs, are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
• Deliver instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students
• Collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and support
• Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to improve outcomes
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress to inform ongoing instruction and planning
• Create a welcoming, safe, and productive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and learning
• Provide guidance and support to classroom staff in implementing educational strategies for students with special needs

Requirements

• Teaching Certification, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or higher in Special Education
• State License as an ECSE SPED teacher
• 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
• Experience working with children
• Organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in use of technology
• Fingerprint background clearance
• Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform necessary physical movement functions, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.

Schedule

Full-time, 37.5 hours/week for the 2026-2027 school year (August – June). On-site, in-person role for preschool grades with guaranteed hours, including documentation, administrative, and planning time.

Pay

$55 – $65+/hour ($2,062 – $2,437+/week). Dual support from the District and TheraPeds with bi-monthly salary deposits.
