Detailed Description

  • Acts as trainer and problem solver, balances personnel and facilitates the movement of product(s) through designated area of responsibility.
  • Maintains and monitors the conduct, performance and contribution of trainees.
  • Performs manual assembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.
  • Maintains quantity and quality output and supports production or prototype team to meet group goals.
  • Compiles data and generates reports on trainee performance.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of assembly process and product process flow.
  • Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and to address those problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in the applications appropriate to the area e.g.: Word, Excel and Documentation control systems.
  • More advanced manufacturing system knowledge.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
  • Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination, sitting and or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
  • Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects.
  • Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.

Typical Experience

One to two years of relevant experience.

Typical Education

A high school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a commitment towards further / additional education.
