About the role

This position is a direct role within Celestica’s Operations (Production) team. The Trainer 1 is responsible for training and developing production staff to ensure operational excellence and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training programs to production employees on operational procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Assess training needs and develop materials to address skill gaps.
• Monitor and evaluate trainee progress, providing feedback and additional support as needed.
• Collaborate with production supervisors to ensure training aligns with operational goals.
• Maintain training records and documentation.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into training programs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a training or production role, preferably in a manufacturing or operations environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver effective training materials.
• Familiarity with safety and quality standards in a production setting.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in training or production are a plus.
• Typically requires 1-3 years of relevant experience in training or production.

Skills

• Instructional design and delivery.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and move training materials or equipment as needed.
• Comfortable working in a production or manufacturing environment.
