About the role
This position is a direct role within Celestica’s Operations (Production) team. The Trainer 1 is responsible for training and developing production staff to ensure operational excellence and adherence to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver training programs to production employees on operational procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Assess training needs and develop materials to address skill gaps.
- Monitor and evaluate trainee progress, providing feedback and additional support as needed.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to ensure training aligns with operational goals.
- Maintain training records and documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into training programs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a training or production role, preferably in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective training materials.
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards in a production setting.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in training or production are a plus.
- Typically requires 1-3 years of relevant experience in training or production.
Skills
- Instructional design and delivery.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move training materials or equipment as needed.
- Comfortable working in a production or manufacturing environment.
