Responsibilities
- Supervises the operation of the Bond/Warrant Desk in accepting and processing appearance bonds and confirming warrants in accordance with state laws and departmental policy.
- Completes performance evaluations, establishes work priorities, and assigns duties.
- Reconciles funds collected, reviews receipts against reports, notifies Fiscal Manager of discrepancies and prepares deposits.
- Ensures correct funds are in money change boxes prior to and at the end of shift and makes change as needed throughout the shift.
- Prepares and reviews all training reports and coordinates the indoctrination and training of assigned staff.
- Counsels staff and resolves employee complaints.
- Provides bond information to the general public and law enforcement agencies and confirms Dallas County warrants of arrest.
- Generates court notifications, jail releases on various types of bonds, and other forms and other reports and ensures bonds and releases are delivered to intake/release sections within designated timeframes.
- Accepts, processes, and assists attorneys in obtaining Writs of Habeas Corpus during hours in which the courts are closed.
- Aids in the preparation of the budget and development of the section standard operating procedures.
- Acts as a liaison with outside agencies, the courts, and the jail section.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited high school/GED Program.
- Five (5) years of work related experience or 75 hours of college credit or a combination of the two.
- Experience must include at least one (1) year bond/warrant experience.
