Zygo Inspector I – 2nd Shift

Training for this position will be on 1st shift 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with overtime as needed. 2nd shift hours are 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Summary Many optics require surfaces polished to a very high degree of accuracy. The instrument that measures the accuracy of the surface is called an interferometer. Optics that require Zygo measurements are routed to the Zygo Inspector who determines whether or not they meet the accuracy specification determined by the customer. This job is somewhat repetitive, requires good manual dexterity, and the ability to make decisions. Zygo Inspector I – All of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below would be expected for an employee to perform with guidance and training during the first few years of employment. There will be some positions that will continue to be this level when set ups and adjustments are not made by the employee. Zygo Inspector II – All of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below would be expected for an employee to perform at a confident proficient level in 2 or more years of experience. This would include setting up and making adjustments with minimal supervision. Language Skills Ability to understand, speak and read English to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to accurately complete daily inspection reports and correspondence. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers. REASONING ABILITY Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
