About the role
The Regional Manager at Horizon Distributors, Inc. is responsible for developing and managing five business operations within a zone. This includes adjusting sales goals and procedures, assessing market conditions, and ensuring profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manages multiple Sales Center Managers and adjusts sales goals and procedures as necessary.
- Assesses local market conditions, identifies opportunities, and develops forecasts, financial objectives, and business plans for the branches.
- Grows the business through new product development, complementary product development, and new customer and market development.
- Conducts monthly reviews of branch P&L with branch managers and regional managers.
- Hires, develops, and evaluates employees to achieve corporate and personal objectives.
- Ensures compliance with equal employment opportunity laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Safeguards company assets and implements and monitors all company policies and procedures for safe, efficient branch operations.
- Participates in community, business, and industry organizations to enhance the presence and reputation of the branches and company in the assigned geographic region.
- Maintains proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.
- Performs business travel up to 40% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or ten years distribution experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the landscape and irrigation or relative industry.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
