About the role
This position assists in the offloading, receiving, shipping, storage, and distribution of products in a warehouse environment. Daily tasks involve bar code scan applications that record movement, receipt, and status changes to inventory. Timely and efficient completion of job duties and safe operation of industrial power equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers are critical.
Responsibilities
- Receive, transport, and stock inbound products from manufacturing facilities and suppliers, including physical lifting, movement by powered and manual lift, and material handling equipment.
- Accurately place and properly stack stock for storage in designated areas, recording stock locations into the perpetual inventory system using the proprietary system.
- Fulfill orders by locating, transporting, offloading, and scanning outbound product from storage areas to shipping lanes for distribution to consumers, dealers, and other destinations. This includes matching serialized product to orders, updating manifests, and transferring locations in the proprietary system.
- Perform inventory cycle counts daily, weekly, or monthly to meet company compliance requirements.
- Use heavy industrial power equipment and perform job duties at heights requiring fall protection, combined with physical requirements and heavy lifting.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse and comply with all safety regulations established by the company.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience with 1–2 years’ experience in delivery, warehousing, receiving, issuing, packing, shipping, and/or storage of goods.
- Forklift certification required; experience using a cherry picker is a plus.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining inventory logs and databases.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to move heavy items (up to 350 lbs.) for several hours consecutively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of inventory procedures.
- Thorough understanding of proper methods and procedures used in safe receiving, storing, requisitioning, shipping, and delivery.
- Understanding of internal control procedures for receiving product against purchase orders and packing slips, including reconciliation actions.
- Furniture delivery and repair experience.
Physical Demands
- Nearly continuously stand, balance, reach overhead, pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Often perform repetitive hand motion, walking, bending, stooping, listening, talking, climbing stairs and ladders, crawling, and operating industry equipment.
Schedule
40 hours per week.
