YRCT (Youth Recovery CT) Undergraduate Internship
About the role
YRCT (Youth Recovery CT) is seeking an undergraduate intern passionate about bringing a youth voice to the recovery space. This internship provides opportunities to enhance the experience of YRCT grantees, train as a SMART Recovery facilitator, attend community events, assist with website updates, and participate in virtual and in-person activities.
Responsibilities
- Administer administrative tasks to improve the experience of YRCT grantees.
- Train as a SMART Recovery facilitator to co-facilitate SMART Recovery meetings.
- Attend community events to promote YRCT and its initiatives.
- Aid in updating the YRCT website.
- Participate in virtual Intern Seminar twice a month on Fridays from 10am-12pm on Teams (counted as group supervision).
- Attend the full in-person orientation consisting of three eight-hour days at the Bristol location on August 31, September 1, and September 2.
- Regularly attend internship activities despite school vacation calendars (placement attendance is mandatory).
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a 2-4 year higher education program majoring in social work or related human services field.
- Possess lived experience or familiarity with the recovery community.
- Show insight into current trends among young people in recovery.
- Have experience with posting to social media platforms to promote YRCT events and initiatives.
