Substance Use Recovery Internship

About the Role

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) is a leading statewide provider of behavioral health services and a Certified Great Place to Work. Since 1938, BHN has helped individuals, families, and communities thrive through compassionate, high-quality care and support. The New View program at BHN in Greenfield, MA serves female-identified patients who have been civilly committed through the Section 35 court proceeding to a designated substance use disorder treatment facility. The program offers acute treatment services (ATS) and clinical stabilization services (CSS).

This internship runs for approximately 300 hours based on college program needs and is unpaid, as it is for college credit.

Responsibilities

• Conducting intakes and assessments for individuals served.
• Completing clinical documentation notes.
• Providing counseling in 1:1 individual sessions as well as in groups.
• Supporting individuals served with harm reduction strategies.
• Assisting individuals served with aftercare and referrals for community services available.

Requirements

• Enrolled in an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s program with a related degree (required).
• Reliable transportation to Greenfield, MA and Springfield, MA (required).
