Youth Worker
Part-time schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 2:30 P.M.–6:30 P.M.; Wednesday 1:30 P.M.–6:30 P.M. Pay rate: $15.00 per hour.

Summary
Plans, implements, supervises youth members, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all youth and their families to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.
Responsibilities
- Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of positive youth development outcomes.
- Promotes and stimulates youth participation and assists with registration of new members and participates in their program orientation.
- Provides guidance and role modeling to youth.
- Implements and administers programs, services, and activities for youth; may oversee special programs and services.
- Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of youth and quality in programs.
- Prepares periodic activity reports.
- Assists with implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and participation.
- Assists in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order and ensures all storage areas are kept orderly.
- Reports all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs as needed.
- May participate in special programs and/or events.
- Driving is an essential function.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous work in a related field with children and youth preferred.
- Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
- Administrative skills including utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, and 10-key.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
- Must pass all applicable background checks.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside.
- Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
- Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
- A commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan.
Certifications
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within an established timeframe).
