Youth Volleyball Coach - Seasonal

Seasonal position coaching youth volleyball for participants in 3rd–5th grade. All equipment is provided.

Pay

$14.00 – $16.00 per hour

Schedule

Girls Volleyball Season: February 15, 2027 – April 3, 2027 (dates subject to change). Practices are Monday & Wednesday evenings, possibly Tuesday or Thursday evenings, 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Four game days on Saturday mornings/early afternoons.

Responsibilities

• Act as gym supervisor and liaison for the Parks and Recreation department
• Oversee the school facility, coaching, game play, officiating, and score keeping
• Direct all aspects of the team’s practice and game play
• Serve as a positive role model to players, parents, officials, and fellow coaches by following all rules and demonstrating good sportsmanship
• Teach volleyball skills using planned practices and games at an appropriate level for each participant
• Organize players to participate in games while providing a safe and enjoyable environment, giving each child an equal opportunity to participate

Requirements

• Knowledge of volleyball rules and bylaws preferred
• Must meet minimum age requirements
• Instructor’s level of play should be at the high school level or above
• Ability to operate timing devices and/or the official scorebook
• Background knowledge and/or playing experience in volleyball preferred
• Professional, confident, and capable of dealing with players, parents, officials, and fans
• Reliable transportation to and from games
• Enjoy working with kids
