Youth STEM Instructor: Fall 2026

STEM Instructor (Part-Time)Department: Youth Programs & Enrichment (YPE)Reports To: Camp & Youth Program Director About the RoleThe YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic STEM Instructor to lead engaging, hands-on STEM enrichment classes for children ages 6–12. In this role, you will teach coding and 3D design courses, foster creativity and problem-solving skills, and create a positive learning environment where students can build confidence and develop a passion for technology. ResponsibilitiesLead beginner, intermediate, and advanced coding and 3D design classes.Deliver project-based STEM lessons that are fun, engaging, and age-appropriate.Support student learning through classroom management, encouragement, and individualized instruction.Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom technology.Track attendance and student progress.Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment.Follow YMCA policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines Qualifications Required:Must be at least 18 years old.Experience working with children ages 6–12.Knowledge of basic coding concepts and educational coding platforms.Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.Willingness to learn 3D modeling/design software.Ability to pass a background screening.Preferred:Coursework or degree in Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Technology, or a related field.Experience teaching coding, robotics, digital design, or STEM programs.CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and actively participate in youth program activities.
