About the Role

Snapology is one of the best Children's Enrichment franchises in the country! Our approach is based on proven research that children’s best learning experiences come from actively creating, designing, interacting, and inventing. As a STEM teacher, you’ll promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 2-14, though not all instructors are required to teach all age groups.

This role requires collaboration with Snapology leadership and representing the organization to parents and children with professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Lead groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with Snapology’s rules and disciplinary systems
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Adequately prepare for each program by reviewing curriculum, training videos, or attending in-person sessions
  • Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
  • Encourage students and parents to enroll in future Snapology programs
  • Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings, as required

Requirements

  • Current criminal and child clearances
  • 2+ years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
  • Education degree or teaching experience recommended; candidates pursuing an education degree will also be considered
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Schedule

  • Weekday after-school and/or evening classes
  • Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
  • Summer camps
  • Special events, holiday, and break workshops

This is a part-time position. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, STEM Instructors typically work between 6-30 hours per week.

Pay

$40.00 per hour
