About the role
We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as a Youth Services Specialist at the Wyoming Boys' School in Worland. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide supervision, safety, and mentorship for adjudicated male youth ages 12-21 in a supportive juvenile correctional setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide security and supervision within the assigned dormitory during active programming hours (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
- Implement behavioral interventions and model positive life skills
- Cookordination daily activities to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
- Document student progress
- Participate in clinical team assessments
- Manage crises and respond to emergencies in compliance with facility policies
- Safely and securely transport students on/off campus for activities and work projects
- Explain agency rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to new residents during intake to the dormitory
- Support the educational department in ensuring students have the opportunity to complete assignments
- Support and ensure students receive access to services that benefit their emotional stability and development
- Provide leadership to a unit through disciplinary actions, setting standards and guidelines, ensuring academic support is provided, and all medical issues are attended to
Qualifications
- Preference may be given to applicants with an Associate's Degree
- Preference may be given to applicants with one year of work experience in youth services
- Education & Experience Substitution: Two (2) or more years of progressive work experience (typically in Youth Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Youth Services Specialist
