Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to teach others, including Daily Living Skills, social skills, and community involvement
  • Assist and support children and youth with disabilities in becoming actively involved in their communities, develop friendships, and independent use of community resources
  • Regularly provide opportunities for inclusion through planned activities, social interactions, exposure, advocacy, training and education as identified in the assessment and planning process
  • Provide assistance with personal care tasks, as needed (i.e. mobility, eating, bathroom, etc.)
  • Document properly on all individual services provided daily in the required time frame and format
  • Maintain open, respectful, and clear communication with the participant, their families, and supervisor
  • Transport and accompany individuals to community activities in company or personal vehicles

Requirements

  • Must pass WI caregiver background check
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to work flexible/non-standard schedule (including some evenings and weekends)
  • Reliable vehicle (unless determined exempt with HR)

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year work experience with individuals and/or children with Disabilities
  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills
  • Knowledge in the modifications, adaptation, and use of specialized equipment
  • General knowledge of computer use and programs required
