Youth Security Supervisor
Job Description
The Department of Health and Human Services at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Kearney is seeking a Youth Security Supervisor. The successful candidate will supervise a shift of Youth Program Specialists, ensure treatment and programming expectations are followed, serve as a first responder to emergencies, and conduct investigations.

Responsibilities
- Supervise a shift of Youth Program Specialists that provide security and maintain control of youth located at our facility.
- Ensure expectations of treatment and programming are followed.
- Serve as first responder to emergency situations throughout the facility.
- Ensure consistency is followed throughout the facility, including scheduling (for staff and youth), and basic facility expectations.
- Conduct investigations that reveal information on incidents that have potential to be a security risk to the facility.
- Must be able to adapt to unfolding situations and make decisions that provide the best safe outcome for all involved.
- Using Handle with Care principles, leads and assists in emergency/crisis situations and notifies appropriate personnel and outside agencies; ensures/maintains a safe, secure and therapeutic environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience in: social work, criminal justice, counseling and guidance, human development and the family, psychology, behavioral health care, education, social/behavioral sciences, nursing/patient care, delinquency prevention or related area. Experience leading, coordinating, directing, monitoring and/or supervising others.
- Must be age 21 to work with youth located at YRTC.
- Preferred Qualifications: 1 year experience with crisis management, adolescent development, and/or verbal de-escalation.
