Youth Program Manager, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

Project Management$200k/yrFull-time

Alpha students don't sit through traditional lectures. They achieve academic mastery through adaptive technology while Guides provide coaching, accountability, motivation, and essential life skills instruction. As a Lead Guide, your mission is to develop the team that executes this model—coaching Guides, cultivating emerging leaders, and establishing an environment where students routinely surpass expectations.

This position is neither instructional coaching nor classroom teaching. You won't review lesson plans or observe lectures—because they don't exist in our model. Your work centers on building a culture of excellence: coaching your Guide team, facilitating dynamic life skills workshops, and inspiring students toward ambitious achievement. Performance will be evaluated through the caliber of student experiences, team effectiveness, and your capacity to uphold rigorous standards while motivating others to reach them.

Alpha is constructing the world's premier K-12 educational experience. This requires leaders with proven track records of elevating others' performance, making data-informed decisions, and championing innovative approaches over preserving legacy systems. This position is available at selected Alpha campuses: Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Orange County, CA; and Santa Barbara, CA. If you currently reside in one of these areas—or are prepared to relocate—we encourage your application. Outstanding candidates from other locations are also welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching Guides to reliably deliver outstanding student experiences while upholding Alpha's rigorous standards.
  • Facilitating dynamic life skills workshops that build communication, leadership, focus, and other essential real-world competencies for K-12 students.
  • Inspiring students to pursue ambitious learning objectives and optimize their progress within self-directed academic programs.
  • Leveraging data, direct observation, and coaching dialogues to enhance Guide effectiveness and student results.
  • Contributing to the launch and establishment of new Alpha campuses by cultivating a culture rooted in excellence, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
  • Guarantee that every student consistently receives Alpha's three core promises by developing high-performing Guides, facilitating compelling life skills programming, and upholding rigorous expectations for student achievement.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering traditional academic instruction or subject-specific lectures.
  • Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum materials.
  • Reducing standards to create an illusion of student success rather than facilitating genuine mastery.
  • Leading a team remotely from an office without direct, regular coaching engagement with both students and Guides.
  • Maintaining outdated methodologies simply because they represent established practice.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work on-site at an Alpha campus (relocation support available): Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Orange County, CA; Santa Barbara, CA.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in education, coaching, learning and development, or a related leadership role.
  • Experience leading and developing teams of five or more people, including hiring and making performance-based termination decisions.
  • Demonstrated success using data to drive performance improvements.
  • Experience working with children ages 5-14 in an educational, coaching, or developmental setting.
  • Experience building or launching a new team, program, business, school, or initiative, with willingness to help open a new campus from zero.
  • Willingness to work in a school model that rejects traditional lecture-based pedagogy.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience coaching youth through athletics, debate, camps, or extracurricular programs.
  • Exceptional public speaking and storytelling skills.
  • A track record of achieving high levels of academic, professional, or athletic performance.
  • Experience motivating teams through ambitious goals while maintaining high accountability.
  • A passion for challenging conventional education and helping shape a new model for K-12 learning.
