Youth Prevention Program Manager - YP011

Position Overview

The full-time Youth Prevention Program Manager will engage with Native American youth (ages 10-24) in the greater Portland area to provide culturally relevant prevention activities aimed at decreasing substance use and suicide. This role utilizes a positive, strengths-based approach to engage youth, their families, schools, and community stakeholders. The Manager will use cultural advisement to guide youth in navigating available services throughout NARA NW and within the service area. Additionally, this position will coordinate with Tribal youth prevention teams and represent NARA NW at various prevention camps and events organized by the nine tribes of Oregon.

What You Will Do

• Provide one-on-one mentorship and support to youth participating in program activities.
• Develop and maintain trusting relationships with youth and families to enhance engagement.
• Design and implement trauma-informed, community-driven youth prevention programs, activities, and strategies for Native American youth and families in accordance with grant and contract guidelines.
• Familiarize yourself with Oregon's Tribal-Based Practices to develop programming centered around cultural best practices.
• Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, and stakeholders.
• Organize and participate in trauma-informed, culturally relevant community events.
• Facilitate suicide prevention trainings for behavioral health professionals, community partners, youth, and adults.
• Assist with the collection of key data to measure program success and assess the effectiveness of program activities.
• Collaborate with internal NARA NW stakeholders to monitor the status of current grants and contracts.
