Organization: RISE Services Pay: $21.00 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement Status: Full-time, benefits eligible Schedule: Flexible schedule with significant afternoon, evening, and weekend availability Work Setting: Community-based with regular local travel Help Students Prepare for Employment and Life After High School RISE Services is hiring a Youth Job Coach to help students with disabilities explore careers, develop workplace skills, and prepare for employment and life after high school. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in job coaching, education, special education, behavioral support, mentoring, workforce development, human services, or working with teenagers and young adults. You do not need previous experience with Pre-Employment Transition Services, commonly called Pre-ETS. We will provide training on the program requirements and documentation. What You Will Do As a Youth Job Coach, you will work individually and in small groups with students, generally ages 14–21, who have disabilities, IEPs, or Section 504 Plans. You will help students: Explore careers that match their interests and strengthsLearn how to search and apply for jobsCreate resumes and practice interviewingDevelop communication, teamwork, punctuality, and problem-solving skillsUnderstand workplace expectations and professional behaviorBuild confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skillsExplore college, vocational training, and other postsecondary optionsParticipate in workplace tours, job shadowing, informational interviews, and approved work experiencesObtain work permits and complete other employment-related steps when needed Primary Responsibilities Provide engaging, individualized career-readiness and employment activitiesTeach practical job-readiness and independent-living skillsAdapt instruction to each student’s abilities, communication style, interests, and support needsHelp students identify career goals, strengths, preferences, and potential barriersPrepare students for work-based learning experiences and provide support throughout the experienceCommunicate professionally with students, families, schools, employers, and vocational rehabilitation counselorsCoordinate activities around school schedules and student availabilityComplete progress notes, service documentation, timesheets, and reports accurately and on timeFollow RISE Services policies, confidentiality requirements, and vocational rehabilitation program guidelinesParticipate in required meetings, training, supervision, and quality-assurance activities Schedule Because most students attend school during the day, candidates must have meaningful availability during: AfternoonsEveningsWeekendsSchool breaks and holidays Some daytime hours may be used for school meetings, training, documentation, employer outreach, program coordination, and other approved responsibilities. Applicants must be able to maintain a dependable and reasonably consistent weekly schedule. The exact schedule will vary based on student availability, authorized services, work experiences, and program needs. Required Qualifications Experience working with teenagers, young adults, individuals with disabilities, or other populations requiring supportAbility to engage, motivate, and build positive relationships with young peopleStrong communication, organization, and time-management skillsAbility to work independently in schools, workplaces, and community settingsAbility to complete electronic documentation accurately and on timeAvailability during afternoons, evenings, and weekendsValid driver’s license and reliable personal transportationWillingness to travel throughout the assigned service areaBasic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and electronic documentation systemsAbility to meet applicable background-check and employment requirements A bachelor’s degree is not required. Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following areas is helpful but not required: Job coaching or employment servicesTeaching, tutoring, mentoring, or youth programmingSpecial education or behavioral supportCareer counseling or workforce developmentHuman services, social work, psychology, or rehabilitationWorking with students who have IEPs or Section 504 PlansCoordinating workplace experiences or employer partnershipsVirginia DARS or Maryland DORS services Who Will Succeed in This Position?
