About the role
The Youth Empowerment Stewards (YES) VISTA: Acadia National Park - AmeriCorps Conservation Legacy Program: Stewards Individual Placements, East Site, is a 365-day service term starting September 8, 2026, ending September 7, 2027. The position offers a living allowance of $68.39 per day, totaling $24,962.35 annually.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with park staff to design public education programs for a wide variety of audiences, including underserved schools and youth organizations.
- Create interpretive talks and curriculum-aligned programming for K–12 students in science, history, and social studies—both in person and virtually.
- Develop new educational content (videos, signage, digital materials).
- Improve outreach to economically disadvantaged communities.
- Identify ways to reduce barriers to participation for people with disabilities.
- Build capacity and develop sustainable solutions to alleviate poverty in underserved communities.
Qualifications
- United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien.
- At least 18 years of age.
- College graduate.

Evaluation and Reporting
Performance will be evaluated based on completing the required year of service, satisfactory completion of assignments, and meeting other performance criteria clearly communicated at the start of the term of service. Reporting requirements include bi-weekly timesheets, accomplishment tracking, and quarterly reporting.
