About the role
The Youth Drop-in Center Coordinator will coordinate and implement all services provided at the SAFY Youth Drop-In Center in Lima BH division. The position involves coordinating programs, implementing activities, assisting with referrals, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement all Drop-In Center services (including program orientation, peer participant groups, education sessions, group activities, recreational programming, adult mentoring, community involvement, and aftercare planning).
- Aid in case-related activities for youth visiting the Drop-In Center.
- Assist in obtaining direct services for youth from their community of origin.
- Involvement in family and individual sessions to support positive change.
- Assist with distribution of PR packets and promoting the Drop-In Center.
- Meet with schools, social services agencies, and the business community for PR purposes.
- Engage in outreach to youth participating in Drop-In Center services.
- Participate in joint meetings, problem identification, and resolution.
- Establish and maintain a supportive and positive working relationship with youth, foster parents, referring agencies, and other SAFY stakeholders.
- Mandated reporting and monitoring of all documentation and activities.
- Model and coach staff.
- Prepare monthly schedules for staff at the Drop-In Center.
- Attend relevant seminars, training, conferences, and workshops to enhance professional skills.
- Participate in meetings and committees as required.
- Conduct new staff orientation training as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Associate's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field of human services preferred.
- Three years of experience in a mental health field, with knowledge and familiarity of behavior management principles and facilitating behavior change.
- One year minimum supervisory experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Acceptable driving record and auto insurance.
- Flexible work hours and reliable phone system for communication.
- Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and de-escalation training.
