About the role

The Youth Development Specialist at TLP Group Home plays a crucial role in supporting the emotional and social development of youth in foster care. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a passion for helping young people navigate their challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to youth in foster care
  • Facilitate group activities that promote social and emotional growth
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Maintain accurate records and report progress to relevant parties

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth in foster care or similar settings
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with trauma-informed care principles
  • Knowledge of child welfare systems and policies

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to build positive relationships with youth and families

Pay

Salary range: $30,000 - $40,000 annually
