Youth Development Specialist

The Youth Development Specialist (YDS) is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children receiving residential services by providing empathetic support, feedback, and guidance. Key duties include responding effectively to challenging behaviors such as non-compliance, aggression, self-harm, and hygiene needs, while supporting emotional regulation and behavior development in accordance with individualized treatment plans. Qualifications include a high school diploma (some college preferred), experience working with children with emotional or behavioral challenges, and a valid driver’s license with a reliable vehicle. Required skills encompass strong communication, organizational abilities, cultural sensitivity, sound decision-making, computer proficiency, and self-direction.
