Youth Counselor -(Overnight)
About the role
The Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services (CHOR YFS), an affiliate of Apis Services Inc., is seeking Youth Counselors to join our team in Germantown, PA. We are dedicated to providing responsive and innovative care to adolescent males through a multi-disciplinary approach that includes counseling, education, recreation, and life skills instruction.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a variety of counseling, communication, and parenting skills, supporting the formation of trusting, supportive relationships with residents.
- Maintain safety and security of residents and facility.
- Actively supervise residents during academic instruction, recreational activity, in the community, and in common areas of the facility.
- Collaboratively create residential behavioral goals in conjunction with clinical staff and case manager.
- Create and maintain electronic health records (EHR) and reports to document residents' progress toward behavioral goals.
- Be trained in accordance with our structured program policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or associate degree in a human services-related field, or
- High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience working with youth.
- Basic computer skills.
- Pass criminal history (including FBI) and child abuse history clearances.
- Valid driver's license.
- At least 21 years of age.
