About the role
We are currently seeking PRN Youth Care Workers to join our Psychiatric Residential Treatment team in Topeka, KS. This part-time position works 10-20 hours weekly, with an average hourly rate of $17.85 (including wage, incentives, bonuses, overtime, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Start the day by greeting residents and setting a positive, encouraging tone
- Lead engaging activities—from group discussions to creative projects
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to help youth build healthy habits and coping skills
- Reinforce positive behaviors and ensure participation in daily programming
- Document progress and collaborate with the treatment team on individualized care plans
- Assist with daily living tasks such as meal supervision or laundry
- Transport residents to appointments or activities while ensuring safety and structure
Your role is more than supervision—it’s about being a steady, supportive presence in a young person’s life.
Requirements
- 21 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to helping at-risk youth
- Reliable team player who can also work independently
- Motivated to learn and grow—no prior experience required
