Become a Youth Care Worker at Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, Virginia. Join a dedicated team committed to the holistic care and treatment of at-risk youth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth
  • Support the physical, personal, and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and skill development
  • Maintain a supportive environment for youth needs
  • Monitor and document behaviors and activities
  • Assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement treatment plans

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 6 months experience working with children preferred (paid or volunteer)
  • Pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test

Qualifications

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in child development and psychology

Skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to handle crisis situations
  • Knowledge of child development and psychology

Pay

$19 to $23 per hour based on education and experience. Earn a $1,000 bonus after successful completion of essential skills training (within 90 days).

Schedule

Work week will be 5 eight-hour shifts including both Saturday and Sunday. Evening Shift: 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
