Nature of Work
Under direct supervision from the Clinical Director, performs work of moderate difficulty in the planning and implementation of activities, pro social skills training, and family support services, case management, and behavioral health services; performs related work as assigned.
About the Role
Works closely with Clinical Director in the day-to-day operations of Youth Center.
Adheres to workplace procedures as well as health and safety protocols.
Completes all training associated with the position.
Operates the front desk and monitors the checking in procedures of youth.
Processes and inputs confidential and sensitive information into electronic health record (EHR).
Responsibilities
- Learn and further develop skills related to working with youth in a youth center.
- Engages with the youth and their families and works to create trust between youth, family, and Youth Center.
- Plans and coordinates social activities for youth in center.
- Maintains membership access system.
- Functions positively as a member of the treatment team providing behavioral health services to youth.
- Communicates and coordinates client care with family members, behavioral and medical health professionals, and community resources.
- Completes assessment, treatment plans, and brief counseling.
- Provides case management for youth and families.
- Participates in weekly clinical oversight meeting with Clinical Director.
- Maintains client records in compliance with Coconino County Health and Human Services, Arizona Department Health Services, Regional Behavioral Health Authorities/health plans, and Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System.
- Completes documentation in the Electronic Health Record for activities with enrolled individuals.
- Affords assistance to youth and their families in navigating and accessing services within the community.
- Plans and facilitates pro social and psycho educational groups for youth.
- Utilizes person-first language in all interactions and demonstrates excellence in compassionate customer service.
- Builds relationships with collaborative partners to support and strengthen referrals and linkages to care.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and two years of behavioral health work experience OR; Associate degree in the field of behavioral health, and at three years behavioral health work experience OR; Four years of full-time behavioral work experience OR any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Additiional Requirements: Must be 21 years of age. Must obtain Fingerprint Clearance Card within two months from date of hire. Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Final job offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year Arizona Motor Vehicle Report. Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social work, psychology, counseling, or a closely related field, along with a minimum of two years of professional behavioral health experience.
- Experience working directly with youth and adolescents is highly preferred, including providing case management, behavioral health services, crisis intervention, or supportive programming.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills, a trauma-informed approach, the ability to work collaboratively with community partners, and a passion for supporting the behavioral health needs of young people and their families.
