Behavioral Health Technician - Residential
Overview
Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers (DTAC) is seeking dependable and compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians to support male adolescents in our residential treatment program. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow a career in behavioral health while making a meaningful difference in the lives of youth.
Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician assists Caseworkers and program staff in providing supervision, structure, and basic therapeutic support for youth in care. This role focuses on safety, engagement, and helping youth build positive behaviors and life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of residents
- Support appropriate behavior and social interaction
- Document daily activities, progress notes, and staff logs
- Aid in structured programming and recreational activities
- Engage youth in one-on-one interactions when appropriate
- Support youth in meeting treatment plan goals
- Co-facilitate group activities and assist clinical staff as needed
- Maintain communication with staff regarding shift availability and updates
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong reliability and willingness to learn
- Ability to work with adolescents in a structured environment
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain PA clearances (Act 33, Criminal History, FBI Act 73)
- Ability to pass Safe Crisis Management training
